Was listening to Rare Gems of Jagjit Singh. And came across a gazal, which sounded exceptionally brilliant this time. Or may be I never heard the lyrics so attentively earlier. Anyways, this is the brilliant gazal:

इश्क़ फ़ना का नाम है
इश्क़ मे ज़िंदगी न दे

जलवा-ए-आफ़ताब बन
ज़र्रे मे रौशनी न दे
[जलवा-ए-आफ़ताब == sun's brilliance] [ज़र्रे == tiny bit]

शौक को रहनुमा बना
जो हो चुका कभी न दे
[शौक == desire] [रहनुमा == guide/prophet]

आग दबी हुई निकाल
आग बुझी हुई न दे

तुझको खुदा का वासता
तू मेरी ज़िंदगी न दे

जिसकी सहर भी शाम हो
उसकी सिया शबीं न दे
[सहर == morning/dawn] [सिया == black/dark] [शबीं == night]

जलवा-ए-आफ़ताब बन
ज़र्रे मे रौशनी न दे
