Around two years back, I bought a book no Nagpur railway station. A poetry collection by Harivansh Rai Bachchan called Nisha-Nimantran. I finished the book the same night on my journey from Nagpur to Mumbai (or was it Delih?). Anyways, the piece of poetry that stuck to my mind from that night to this date, is this one:

स्वप्न भी छल, जागरण भी

भूत केवल जल्पना है
औ’ भविष्यित कल्पना है
वर्तमान लकीर भ्रम की, और है चौथी शरण भी
स्वप्न भी छल, जागरण भी

मनुज के अधिकार कैसे,
हम यहाँ लाचार ऐसे,
कर नहीं इनकार सकते, कर नहीं सकते वरण भी
स्वप्न भी छल, जागरण भी

जानता यह भी नहीं मन,
कौन मेरी थाम गर्दन,
है विवश करता कि कह दूँ, व्यर्थ जीवन भी, मरण भी
स्वप्न भी छल, जागरण भी
